FUNDING PRIORITIES

We are committed to work in the district to support the efforts of students and teachers. Program areas are designed to provide enrichment projects to enhance, supplement, or extend the educational services of Canyon ISD. Funding does not replace or alter use of funds from traditional tax-base sources.

Educators can apply for grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 each fall & spring for classroom or grade-level projects that support CISD goals, needs assessments, and strategic plans that enrich the educational process for students..Examples include:
● Literacy Closets
● Reading intervention
● Technology
● Maniuplatives
● Tools developed specifically for special education
● Arts & crafts supplies
● Specific curriculum programs

Canyon ISD staff can apply for fall or spring grants that allow them to expand their professional learning environment and that is not currently funded through the CISD budget. Examples include:
● National/Regional Conferences
● Google Summits

Scholarship opportunities are available each Spring for Seniors at Randall High School, Canyon High School and Midway Alternative School.

Any Canyon ISD student group that works with a faculty sponsor on a project for their campus or the greater community may apply at any time for a leadership grant up to $250.

At the start of each school year, the Education Foundation provides a $50 start-up “seed money” for each new Canyon ISD teacher.
